Overview

iEmail is a privacy-first web utility for personalized bulk email delivery. It allows users to upload contact spreadsheets from Excel or CSV, map dynamic template variables, and safely dispatch messages directly through their own verified Google / Gmail account with client-side parsing, rate pacing, and zero server-side data retention.

The Challenge

Teams and individuals needing to send customized announcements or updates often face complicated mail merge tools or expensive newsletter platforms that store sensitive recipient contact lists on third-party servers.

The Solution

Engineered a privacy-focused client application powered by Next.js and Google OAuth. Recipient spreadsheets are parsed and kept purely in the browser, while dispatch requests stream directly via the Gmail API with controlled delay pacing to protect sender reputation.

Technical Decisions

Scoped Google OAuth & Direct Gmail Dispatch

Restricted permissions strictly to the Gmail message dispatch scope, ensuring users retain total ownership of their inbox without exposing read access or stored credentials.

Client-Side Zero-Retention Architecture

Processed CSV/Excel uploads and template variable interpolation in-memory within the browser, guaranteeing contact lists never touch an intermediary backend or database.

Adaptive Rate-Pacing Pipeline

Implemented customizable delay intervals between consecutive emails to prevent spam detection flags and adhere strictly to Google daily sending thresholds.
